Mara White is, without a doubt, a talented writer and that comes through in Touched. The story is emotional and gripping as it follows June and Gem into adulthood. The drawback for me was the jumping back and forth in time, especially in the beginning. The multi POV combined with those jumps made it hard to connect with the characters. Fortunately, it did get better as the story went on and the depth of emotions became more evident. All in all, I would call this a love story; maybe not what we all think of when we hear that, but a love story just the same and well worth the read.
